WE ENJOYED A FUN WAY OF LEARNING
This week, we learnt about the letter ‘F’ in a fun way. After reading the book ‘The rainbow fish’, children were given the opportunity to draw their own fish and decorate it with cupcake holders and glitter. We ended the week by making a yummy fruit salad with the children. The children enjoyed fun way of learning about the letter “F” and healthy eating practices.
BEAM
BEAM SPEAKS 2022
Beam students spent Term 3 preparing for the inaugural “BEAM Speaks” event, which took place on Wednesday night. For many, it was the first time they had memorised a poem, used a microphone, or took part in improvisation, so there was lots of anticipation and some nervousness as well. On the night, however, the Beam students rose to the occasion, and delighted the audience with their confident, clear speaking, and their smiles which showed they were actually enjoying being “centre stage”! They presented a range of items, including recital of poems, as well as jokes, short stories, improvisation and presentations of the natural wonders of our country, which make the audience both laugh and think.
This event was also a House Competition, judged very professionally by Mrs Chen Ee Lor and Mrs Rebecca Felici, from our LCC Secondary School English and Law departments. Miss Prudence Sage added the continual flow of points and Ten Boom Titians eventually emerged as the winners for the evening, by the very narrow margin of ‘one point’. The new perpetual trophy was awarded to the winning House Captains.
Congratulations to all the BEAM students on their engaging performances, and to the teachers who prepared them for this special event. A huge thank you to all the parents and visitors for being such an interested and responsive audience for the students.
BEAM ART EXHIBITION
Our BEAM Art Exhibition was full of colour and artwork fit to be framed and on our loungeroom walls at home. The students demonstrated their skill and voice on paper to the amazement of all who walked through the MP Hall and enjoyed the many beautiful and creative art pieces. We are enormously proud of our students and their love for art, constantly demonstrating gifts and talents straight from our God who created colour and beauty in all He created from the beginning…Genesis.

NAVIGATE
YEAR 5 CAMP
This past week the Year 5s had a wonderful time out on camp. We were able to partner with CYC camps in Philip Island to have a fun packed learning experience including a giant swing, fly fox, pedal racers, a mechanical climbing wall and much more! The students challenged themselves with new opportunities, built new friendships, overcame fears and learnt independence. Thank you to all the staff involved in contributing to a successful camp which I am sure the students will remember for years to come.

10C would like to thank you for your tremendous amount of support. This year, our incredible homeroom decided to take on a community service project involving a sausage sizzle fundraiser, in which all proceeds will be donated to Melbourne’s struggling individuals.
It was an absolute privilege to serve and to witness our Lighthouse community join together in becoming contributors to a significant cause. Because of you, we are able to collaborate with Wombat Housing Support Services; a non-profit community-based organisation in Melbourne’s West that has been providing a range of free services to youth, singles, and families at risk of homelessness for over 30 years.
Once more, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude, we are so proud!

INTEGRITY
The word ‘integrity’ is often seen within our lives as Christians. We are expected to act with integrity – to be dedicated to daily actions and practices, to be authentic, and most importantly, to be honest: not only to others, but also to ourselves. This can be a hard ask for many of us, including myself – as it is not always easy to challenge ourselves on whether we are doing the right thing, and to be honest with ourselves in dealing with problems we may face. The daily motions of schedules and plans can create chaos in our life that prevents us from honestly reflecting on our actions and determining whether they are pleasing to God.
Proverbs 10:9 says ‘Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.’
Jesus was an important figure in the bible that represented what it looked like to truly live a life of integrity. He was honest, truthful and dedicated to all the miracles he performed, the lessons he taught and the people he met. Modelling our own lives through the way Jesus lived can help us to implement integrity into our own lives – and can prevent us from wandering down a crooked path. This may look like something as simple as taking time out of our days to reflect on whether our own actions are in line with God’s plan and his provisions - even though a small act of reflection - can help us to live a life full of integrity.
