The children have been learning to become competent in writing their names independently on their Letterland classwork. Over the weeks in Term 3 children’s writing skills were scaffolded to another level with support from teachers. They were empowered to write their names and surnames without looking or copying from their name tags. This was to assess children’s cognitive learning and development of remembering, retaining, understanding, recalling, and sequencing of what have been taught and learnt. They have opportunities to exercise their memory to write the letters of their whole name with confidence and competence and independently through different learning curriculum in kindergarten.
BEAM
Our BEAM students and teachers celebrated Book Week (22– 26 August 2022) with much enthusiasm. From rotational classroom storytelling sessions to book reviews and finally a Book Week parade all contributed to bringing enriching literature alive and encouraging our imaginations to soar high.
We dressed up to recreate the themes of the books for Book Week we were privileged to study this year. Each class had the opportunity to share their favourite parts and the life lessons that were central to each story.
We even had a visit from Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Wendy this year causing laughter and excitement for us all. We completed this special week with an Incursion ‘Story Quest Dreaming with Eyes Open..’ with Preform Education. Our Book Week at LCC was colourful, vibrant, fun and highlighted the importance of reading to enrich the learning of the children within our care - Mrs Venlo Kruize
NAVIGATE
It is my privilege to be the 7A Homeroom teacher. We see that many friendships have formed from the start of the year till now.
My focus for my students this year is to help them know and understand this verse from Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’. Whenever they fell like to give up and have negative self-talks, this verse will give them hope, and have breakthroughs.

7A Homeroom Teacher
In homeroom we have a routine schedule in the mornings for an example on Tuesdays we do prayer groups and Fridays we do games. In class we do things like this all together as a group, also we have a specific country that we talk about for the year and our country for the year is Israel. My favourite thing we have learnt about Israel is the language.
Nyaboth Rut
In our homeroom this year, we have accomplished many different things. We have done our prayer groups, we had our class party, we did the group games. We also went on our camp at the start of the year and had lots of fun.

I am writing to tell you what I enjoy about homeroom. For starters I love the fact that we are a diverse school including many different cultures in our class.
Some things I especially enjoy are
This has all been a great way for me to learn more about everyone and even myself. Homeroom is not just taking the role and seeing your friends it is a time to enjoy your peers and explore friendships with different classmates.
Alyssa Londy
7A is a very fun homeroom it is loud and more exciting than most homerooms. 7A is a God believing homeroom where students are respectful and loud but funny.
Chevy Baldock
This year in homeroom we did something new each day. For example, on Tuesdays we have prayer groups and on Thursday we have student devotion. My favourite day is Fridays because we get to play games together. Overall homeroom has been really fun.
Jerin
In Homeroom we learnt about Indonesia, prayed for them, and we took turns sharing about ourselves. The devotions helped us connect with other people, as well as learning more about God. Christmas is drawing near, so the class has decided to share the joy of Christmas by distributing shoeboxes full of gifts.
Rachel.
What I enjoyed about homeroom was how fun and loud our class is and we all talk to each other and have fun. Also, our teacher is really cool because she is strict so she can get us to do our work and get smarter.
Korday
My favourite part of homeroom is on Friday when we get to play games with the class. On Mondays we do devotions and on Tuesday we do prayer groups with our classmates. We also started our operation Christmas child box which we donate our old toys, clothes and stationary to other children who need them.

Lighthouse Puzzle Project 2022 - ‘Peace’
For those who remember, staff and students participated and contributed towards a couple of puzzle projects (Love – 2020 and Joy – 2021) which have been printed on large acrylic and mounted at school for display. We decided to bring it back for a third time in 2022!
During the past few weeks, over 40 staff and students (from Year 6 - 12) participated in this year's edition of the Puzzle Project. I would like to present to you 'PEACE'. In line with the college’s theme of ‘God is Our Provider’ – no matter what is happening around us, and in our lives, what we may feel we are missing or had lost, God is still faithful, ever present, with us, our protector, and most importantly our provider. He is the Prince of Peace!
Philippians 4:6-7 reads: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'
Wherever you are, whatever you may need, and however you may be feeling, believe and know that ‘He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.’ Psalm 107:9
Through focusing and trusting in Him in, through and for all things in our lives, ‘May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way!’ 2Thess 3:16
Thank you to the many staff and students who took part, especially those who I did not know had such creative and artistic gifts and talents! We intend to display this piece as well to spread the Peace of the Lord to many.

Samaritan’s purse - Operation Christmas Child
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6:38
The purpose of Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ by working with local churches all around the world to show children in need the power of God's love. In addition to providing children with toys, toiletries, school supplies, and fun presents, shoebox gifts create opportunities for sharing the gospel!
Many of the kids who receive shoeboxes are invited to take part in The Greatest Journey, a 12-lesson discipleship program. Participants in the program discover how to follow Christ and spread His message to others. As they proceed, churches are established, and entire families and communities are transformed by the power of God.
25,747 of the 210,182 shoe boxes collected in Australia and New Zealand last year came from Victoria. Children from Fiji, the Solomon Islands, Madagascar, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea received these shoeboxes.
Lighthouse let us work together to bring joy and to be a blessing to unprivileged children around us.
