Numeracy: Big and Small
The “Big and Little” and the “Goldilocks and Three Bear” stories were intentionally added to the program to enhance students’ numeracy skills. Through these stories, the teacher introduced different sizes, such as big, medium and small, to the children. Mrs Jeremiah got some children to stand in front of the class according to their sizes, so the children could visualise the concept. Later, children engaged in different activities to demonstrate their learning of size. The children listened to the stories, observed visual examples and explored the mathematical concepts of size and seriation. They used the art and hands on activities to engage in learning and showing their understanding of sizes and seriation.

YEAR 2 ART
The Terrific Twos have been enjoying and working hard in different subject areas this year. In Art they learnt a variety of skills and produces AMAZING ARTWORK! Their teachers are very proud of them.

NAVIGATE
We have had an array of exciting Chapels this year on Tuesday afternoons for Year 5 -7s! In particular it’s been such a privilege to have various visiting speakers join us this semester including Chris Griffioen from OM (Operation Mobilisation), Eric Agyeman & K-Wak from Youth Alive, Brett Ryan from Focus on the Family, ‘TK’ Nyamvura [Youth Pastor] from Empire Youth, Wayne Dyson from Gideons International, and Mark Emerson from Creation Ministries.
We’ve been really appreciative of both our guest speakers and amazing staff preachers encouraging the students in faith with their experiences and expertise!

SRC
Sometimes when you think of gifts, you think of physical presents that have been wrapped up with coloured paper and ribbon, but you never really realise that the most precious gifts are those around you. I believe that this entire year was a blessing from God and that every memory made is one that deserves a place in
our hearts.
One of my biggest highlights this year was the Year 9 Snow Camp. Although the journey was quite long and it was extremely freezing when we arrived, this camp has been my favourite because of all the memories and moments I got to spend with my friends and teachers. I loved spending time with my classmates and getting to
know and understand my teachers better. Many harsh lessons were learnt but we all became much closer as a family. It is hard to believe that 2022 has flown by and my role as an SRC is nearly over. I have been so grateful for this opportunity even though there weren’t many changes to our school environment. Being an SRC this year has given me the chance to observe and take note of all the new ideas, plans for the future and improvements in our school environment.
I would like to say thank you to Mr Kan, teachers and students for this unforgettable year, as it has been such a fun journey. I am so grateful for every opportunity
I was given and the influence I was able to put on our school community. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the year and acknowledge all the gifts that God has
given us.

YEAR 10C
Our year level had an excursion to RMIT, where 10C had the fortunate opportunity of visiting Wombat Housing Support Services, for whom we had created funds in our discovery of an organisation that focuses on assisting struggling individuals within Melbourne.
Throughout our session together, we were thoroughly educated on the causes of homelessness and were assured of the many methods by which Wombat Housing has and will continue to support those in need. Overall, we as a class have received a sense of accomplishment from this initiative and have further acknowledged that more can be done when privileged adolescents, such as ourselves, come together to support the community.

ZENITH
EXCELLENCE
The VCE students have begun their end of year VCAA examinations. Some of our Year 11 students from 11A have studied a Year 12 subject this year and are diligently studying in preparation for the examination date in the coming days. Studying an accelerated subject has been beneficial for these students as they have learned the dedication required to excel in their VCE studies. We have spoken about excellence and qualities of excellence throughout this year in our study skills sessions during homeroom every Thursday. We do our best to excel in our studies to ultimately bring glory to God.

We encourage you to join us in praying regularly for our VCE students as they sit their final examinations. We pray for peace, joy, perseverance, and a spirit of excellence over each of our students.

In Week 7, from Monday 14 to Thursday 17 November, two of our VCAL students have organised a couple of therapy animals to be available to support students as they prepare for their examinations in week 8. This is a major project they have undertaken, and they are very much looking forward to blessing the younger students with this opportunity. Grace and Neetisha chose to research and organise to bring in therapy animals during exam revision week for Year 7 to 10 students to help those who are stressed to relax and focus better on their studies. Grace and Neetisha will be working with Mr Pollard and his therapy dog, Maxi as well as Mrs Marshall’s bunny, Binky to help achieve this goal.
