Nest, Bird’s Home

For the past two weeks the children had been learning about nests, birds, and eggs. The children were engaged in a discussion about what a nest is, what birds do in their nests and what we do in our homes. Later, an activity table was set up to touch, feel, talk and engage in playing with the nest, eggs and birds.

Children’s interest has been channeled to enhance their numeracy skills. The children learned to sort eggs in the nest, draw pictures of nests with eggs in them and then write the numbers of the eggs on a piece of paper. The children engage in inquiry-based learning about nests and bird families. They explored different aspects of nests, from building a nest, to laying eggs, hatching baby birds, feeding, and teaching to fly, etc. The children engage in inquiry-based learning about nests and counting eggs. They explored the mathematical concepts of sorting, counting and writing numbers.

Exam Stress

Exams - for many students, this single word brings back memories of long, stressful hours of studying. There always seems to be this feeling that we haven’t prepared enough to get the marks we (or our parents) want to get. Usually, the answer to this is ‘well, maybe you should just study harder’ or ‘better study even more, just in case’. But are these really the best solutions to this problem, or are comments like these just going to make us feel even more stressed out?

There are only two things that we need to guarantee the results we desire: Hard work and God’s support. As Philippians 4:6-7 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” But this does not mean that we can pray and then just relax. We also need to put in our best effort if we want to see good results in exams.

As Galatians 6:7 says “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”. When you both trust in God and have the determination to work hard, God can make glorious things happen in your life. So, I hope this reminds all of you that there is no need to worry when studying for exams or meet any other challenge in life. All you need to do is trust in the Lord and put in your best effort towards your target.

LAUNCH

Having family to go back to, having friends that love you, information available to us whenever we want, I feel that Gods’ provision as been abundant throughout my life. I don’t think I can pick one specific moment where I saw Gods provision but rather I can recall many small instances where he has shown his love and I am forever grateful for that. Whether it’s the fact that we always have food on our tables, or easy access to water, hes always been there providing even if we do not actually see it.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 Especially with exams coming up I feel like we tend to forget that God is always there to help us. As long as we put in the work with and remember that God is by our side, you will have the peace of mind to do your best and get that 100% you worked for. Good luck on your exams!!

VCE CAMP

To transition into VCE, the 2023 Year 11's and 12's were given the opportunity of having a camp to grow as a group. We attended multiple places in Phillip Island such as the Chocolate Factory, the Penguin Parade and additionally went on a cruise to see the seals!

This camp helped us get to know about each year level more and mingle with people we don't always do at school. We are super grateful for the teachers that attended the camp with us and we can't wait for a successful year in VCE next year.
