To the parents who entrust us with the education and well-being of your children, we extend our sincerest thanks. Your partnership is fundamental to the success of our school community. Your involvement, support, and encouragement are the cornerstones of the strong foundation we've built together. WELLBEING & TECHNOLOGY
YEAR 4 AFFIRMATION AFTERNOON
From some of the students:
On Monday 13 November, Eric taught us about ‘The POWER of WORDS.’ Like one bad can change somebody’s life. He told us about how he was bullied and called ‘ugly’ and more. Later, we were separated into groups – boys and girls. Sandy was talking to the girls and Eric was talking to the boys. My Kan talked to the boys about puberty. Puberty is about when you are born and you grow up. At the end the boys and girls have different goodie bags. Fabulously, the Year 4s finished the day off with style. By Jaiden Senaratna
Yesterday was an experience I will never forget. Eric and Sandy Agyeman both spoke with power. The first session Eric spoke about the topic, “Words carry power” and that our tongue either speaks the power of death or life. After lunch, girls and boys split up and the girls talked about growing up and how to handle it. In the end, we bought a goodie bag home full of encouraging and appropriate kits. I would love to meet Eric and Sandy again. By Victoria Hartono
The Year 4 Affirmation was a special event. We had two special guests: Eric and Sandy Agyeman. Eric taught us about the power of the tongue. The boys got goodie bags and inside was something marvellous. By Ethan Sun
On Monday 13 November Eric and Sandy Agyeman came to Lighthouse’s Affirmation Afternoon for the year 4 boys and girls. The event went from period 4 to 6 and at the end we got a goodie bag with some cool stuff inside. Mr Kan, Miss Suh and Miss White also had a few words too. We talked about the power of words, affirmation and puberty (growing up). What a day! By Zachary Tan
Yesterday we had an incursion in the afternoon – to tell us that puberty is normal for everyone and not to be scared of. We got wristband prizes in the first session, “The Power of Words.” Two people (Wiliam 4S and me, Annabelle) shared a thank you speech at the end. Then, after lunch, the boys and girls split up. In the girls session we got a ‘Daily Affirmations’ poster with lots of compliments about ourselves. By Annabelle Guo
Eric Agyeman taught us all about growing up. We learned about lots of people get bullied so you should be an up-stander not a by-stander. A by-stander is someone that does not help and encourages the bully. On the other hand, an up-stander is like you stand up for them. And we learned that boys have a king in them and girls have a queen in them. The lesson was very fun! By Rlushil La
On 13th November Eric Agyeman came to LCC and talked about the POWER OF WORDS. It was a very lovely and important topic to talk about. It made me learn that if I think I’m not ever enough, I really am. I am truly a child of His, not any other. Also, not only about the power of words but how important words are. They can heal them or down them. It was a deep and true session. By Thalia Heav
Yesterday Eric told us that everything we do, we should not be jealous, even if it’s really cool. Next, he taught us about others feelings. HE said that don’t judge people by their skin colour. We shouldn’t make fun of people by their skin, height, smart or not, and their personality. This lesson was very fun. By Anthony Nguyen
When Eric and Sandy Agyeman told us about the back story of when he was a ten year old kid, when I heard his story I really wanted to be there and support him and stand up for him. In the girls’ group we learned to never be scared because God is always with us and we earned candy and glasses. What stood out to me is that we are all the same and we are all a spiritual family of God’s children and we were born to help and love, not to hurt or kill. I was so glad I was able to be a part of it and this was an excellent opportunity to be able to speak to Eric and Sandy. By Louella Guo
On Monday 13th November all the students in Year 4 went to an incursion. There is the Zenith building we met a man called Eric and a woman named Sandy. When Eric was young he was bullied by other kids. After that the girls and boys were separated and at the end they were given a goodie bag. It was fun for the Year 4s.

Monday 13 November Eric Agyeman talked about not being a by-stander but to be an up-stander. We talked with Sandy and she told us to be ourselves and not what other people say about you. We also learned about what happens to us when we grow older and that it’s all of God’s plans to make us from childhood to adulthood/. In the end we got goodie bags. It was an amazing experience. By Isabelle Wong
On the 13the November 2023, Eric and Sandy Agyeman taught us about all being special and a king and queen inside. We also had Miss Suh and Miss White talk about puberty to the girls and Mr Kan to the boys. Eric explained how words from a bully almost changed his life but Jesus helped him. We had fun activities and outstanding fun! In the end after 3 periods we went to touch grass. By William Kuoch

ELC VISITS THE YAKULT FACTORY
Miss Gemma, our Yakult factory tour guide said, “The main ingredients in Yakult, water, skim milk powder and sugar, Yakult’s unique flavor and probiotic (6.5 live Lacticaseibacillus paracasei Shirota strain in each bottle).”
ATHLETICS DAY
Last week, the Year 1 and 2 students participated in Athletics Day. The oval was filled with excitement as students gathered to run, jump and cheer on their house. Our Year 2 teachers also had fun starting the house relay! A huge thank you to Mr Lim for setting up and organising a fun and memorable day for us, as well as our Year 5 and 6 students for leading various events.

MCCRAE HOMESTEAD
The Year 1 students had an amazing cross-cultural experience by visiting the McCrae Homestead Education Program. This program included strong cultural connections with narrative around the relationship between the McCrae family and the Bunurong people. The program shares what anecdotally is considered a mutually respectful relationship between the Bunurong people and the McCrae family and provides an insight to life on a pioneer settlement in the nineteenth century.
The children had a house tour around the McCrae facility, played some old-fashioned games in the garden and even did butter churning in the kitchen followed by some olden day domestic duties.

YEAR 6 GRADUATION
“On Friday the Year 6 students graduated from Primary School. They were celebrated during chapel in the morning as well with a formal 3 course dinner celebration
at night. Parents, students and teachers enjoyed a lavish dinner prepared by secondary students. There were items performed by our Year 6 students as well as meaningful words spoken over the students by their homeroom teachers. Pastor Jeremy spoke words of life over these students - Godly words that will help and support them as they make this step into secondary. We continue to bless and pray for these precious students.”
Miss Price (Head of Upper Primary)
BUDDY PROGRAM
Our Year 6 and Prep students have been on an inspiring journey of collaboration through our Buddy Program. Engaged in various activities, these budding partners have connected through shared experiences, fostering friendships and mutual support. From joint projects to fun learning tasks, this program has been a platform for both grades to bond, learn, and grow together. Witness the power of teamwork and mentorship in action as our students thrive in this enriching partnership!

SECONDARY
The value of humility is the value of this month. Now, we all have achievements which we should most definitely be proud for. Many of us take great pride when we finally meet a destination which we had never reached before. Everyone has the right to experience an abundant amount of pride and confidence when they have accomplished their extraordinary. However, in these moments we tend to lift ourselves so high, and to great heights, that we forget that we are not the highest.
We must remember that although Jesus is the King of Kings and the Almighty God, he was but only born in a stable among animals. Jesus knelt down before his disciples and washed their feet one by one. As children of God, remember to follow what God has taught us. Remember to be modest and to show humility, for God is watching over us and expects us to follow his lead.

9B Homeroom
I am Mrs Dutta and I have the honour and privilege to be the homeroom teacher for 9B. What a great bunch of thoughtful, active, committed students’ I have. The class follows a firm and fun routine each week.
Monday: It’s the time to look at the term goal set by the students and look at the baby steps they are taking to reach that goal.
Tuesday: Team building games. These activities enable students to start practising important life skills such as communicating, socializing, and problem-solving early on in life.
Wednesday: Devotion Time. The spiritual theme of the college this year is “Christ our Foundation”. When we have God in our lives, He will take care of all our needs because He is our provider. He is the source of life and He sustains it.
Thursday: Environment duty. Involving students in cleaning their school fosters a sense of ownership and responsibility for their learning environment. When
students actively contribute to maintaining a clean and organized space, they are more likely to take pride in their school.
Friday: Spending time outdoors in the oval exercising. There is a myriad of health benefits for students who spend time
outdoors.
