DEPUTY PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Welcome to Term 4! As we begin this final stretch of the school year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our staff who make Lighthouse Christian College such a vibrant and caring community.
On the 5th of October, we celebrated World Teachers’ Day. This is a time to recognise, not only our incredible teachers, but also every member of staff who contributes to the life of our College. From classroom teachers and learning assistants to administration, maintenance, support and leadership teams. Every single staff member plays a vital role in creating the nurturing, Christ-centred environment our students experience every day.
Your dedication, professionalism and servant-hearted spirit reflect the light of Christ and inspire our students to do the same. Thank you for your faithfulness, for going above and beyond and for working together to make Lighthouse a place where students can learn, grow and flourish.
As we journey through Term 4, we encourage all families to check the SEQTA Engage Parent Portal regularly for important updates, including exam schedules, student finish dates and other key events as we move toward the end of the year.
Let’s continue to finish the year well, celebrating God’s goodness and the wonderful community we share at Lighthouse Christian College.
Colossians 3:23
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
Yours in His service

SPORT
Sports Club
In Term 3, our Sport Club program continued to offer new and exciting opportunities for students. Our boys in Years 7–10 had the opportunity to develop their
badminton skills by qualified coaches from EA Badminton Academy, who we are in partnership with for our Academy program. Meanwhile, our Years 7-10 girls participated in netball coaching from experienced netball coaches, players and umpires where they started with learning the basic skills to playing a competitive tournament against their peers.
Through these offerings our students are diversifying and expanding their skills, equipping them to be able to play and appreciate a wider variety of sports. We are thrilled to see the progress our students have shown and are excitedly looking forward to the coaching programs offered in Term 4!
Strength and Conditioning Coach
We are excited to introduce our new Gym Program! To lead the program, we’ve welcomed our new Strength and Conditioning Coach, Ethan Tone, an LCC Alumnus and experienced Personal Trainer & Sports Analyst.
Through Mr. Tones’ expertise and passion, this program will provide tailored sessions designed to meet each student’s fitness goals and abilities, whilst also developing their confidence both on and off the field.
The program kicked off this term with an introductory phase, giving students interested in the program an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the gym environment whilst developing an understanding of the foundations of strength and conditioning. This is an exciting preview of what the program will offer before it officially launches as part of our Sports Academy next year!!
As a College we are excited to offer opportunities to students that builds their athletic potential and performance!

PRIMARY - ELC - YEAR 2
MOONLIT SANCTUARY
In Term 3, our Year 1 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Moonlit Sanctuary. They were thrilled to feed kangaroos and wallabies and see many of God’s wonderful creatures up close, including koalas, wombats, echidnas, and Tasmanian devils. Throughout the day, they learned about how each animal is specially made by God and how we can care for His creation. The students showed great curiosity and respect as they explored the sanctuary and asked thoughtful questions. It was a joyful and memorable day that reminded us of the beauty and wonder of God’s world.

PRIMARY YEAR 3 - 6
CHINESE CULTURAL DAY
From the stunning Peking Opera to the enchanting Guzheng and Sheng instrument playing, graceful Fan Dancing, and dazzling Sichuan Opera Face Changing, Chinese Culture Day was a feast for the senses. Our primary students were excited to join performers on stage, making it an unforgettable, hands-on cultural experience. The day beautifully showcased the richness and creativity of Chinese heritage.

SECONDARY
EXPLORING CHINESE CULTURE
At the end of Term 3, Year 7 students had an unforgettable day discovering Chinese culture: they explored the Chinese Museum’s galleries full of migration stories and ancient artefacts, wandered through the colourful streets of Chinatown learning about heritage and architecture, and then soaked in the calm intensity of a Chinese ink painting workshop—where each student learned brush techniques and created a personal artwork blending tradition with their own expression.
